Linda Rönnberg is an Associate Professor in Political Science and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Applied Educational Science, Umeå University. She is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Research on Lifelong Learning and Education (CELE), University of Turku.
Her main research interests concern education governance, politics, and policy with a specific focus on marketization/privatization, evaluation and school inspection. Current projects include: “Hollowing Out of Public Education Systems? Private Actors in Compulsory Schooling in Finland, Sweden and New Zealand” (PI Prof. Piia Seppänen, University of Turku), “Governing by Evaluation in Swedish Higher Education” (PI Prof. Christina Segerholm, Umeå University), “Consultants in Compulsory Education: Private Actors, knowledge and governance” (PI Rönnberg) and “Education as an export business” (PI Rönnberg).
She is a lecturer in different teacher education programs and supervises doctoral students. Rönnberg is a Co-convenor of the Policy Studies and Politics of Education network at the European Educational Research Association, a Co-editor of Education Inquiry and Executive editor of the European Educational Research Journal.
