Sophie Borwein

Research Assistant

Sophie is a PhD student in the University of Toronto’s Department of Political Science, specializing in Canadian and comparative public policy.

Her research, funded by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), examines preferences for income redistribution in the Canadian provinces.

Sophie holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Toronto. Prior to commencing her PhD, she worked as a researcher at the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO), an agency of the Government of Ontario, and at The Mowat Centre, a public policy think tank in Toronto.
